Creativ Alchemy

“Creativity takes courage” – this is how Henri Matisse, the French artist, (1869 – 1954) is quoted.

Why is that so?

The flip side of courage is fear. Fear keeps us in apparent security, which is like a reality in a prison in which everything is manageable, familiar, limited - even if it is hurtful, restrictive, and conformist.

Adapted to a life, conditions, and decisions that we used in our childhood or later for security and survival, we are now called to change.

The example that comes to mind is a tiger locked in a cage. He cannot live out his tiger powers and has no idea about his natural life field. And when the door of the cage is opened and he is released into freedom, he also needs some time to get used to being able to take steps beyond the dimensions of the cage... the same is true when we free ourselves. We need time.

We take fear by the hand with our creativity to take steps to dance out of our cages into a new land of self-determ+ination and self-creation.

And what is alchemy?

Alchemy describes the transformation of base metals into noble ones. Alchemists were also on the eternal search for a panacea...it's about transformation and self-development.

Why does man want to transform something ignoble into something more valuable?

The human need for development towards more "value"... towards self-development, self-development and authenticity pushes into transformation: from inner lack to abundance, from the ignoble to the noble... from neuroses to mental health, from fear to courage to get out of our inner cages and experience a new inner and outer freedom.

Creativity and alchemy therefore belong together. This fusion describes inner transformation through the flow of creativity within us. Creativity transforms us. Breaks up. Allows fear to become joy and creativity to flow. Frees us from old constraints... and allows new things to emerge.

Everyone is creative, otherwise they wouldn't be alive.

Every human being is a winner from their origins because the - and only the - sperm cell made it to the egg, and we emerged from this successful creative act. It is the assertiveness against thousands of other sperm cells and the focus on the egg that has led to success and the most creative act in humanity - fertilization and the emergence of life.

This means that, on the one hand, everyone has this “I did it” within them, as well as the ability to focus and, on the other hand, this creativity that makes the miracle of life possible.

Sometimes creativity is blocked, buried and must and may be allowed to flow again so that something new can be born.

And if this succeeds - and that's why I call it creative alchemy - then a primal force begins to flow within us that transforms us, brings us into the flow.
